Download Roblox Studio, sign in, and open a fresh Baseplate project.
Before anything else, you need the tool you'll use for the whole course. Roblox Studio is the free app where games are built.
When Studio opens, sign in with the same account. Studio remembers you, so this is usually once per machine. If you can see your profile in the corner, you're in.
Studio is a desktop app. The website is where you manage your account and published games; Studio is where you actually build.
Studio opens on a home page with a grid of templates. You want Baseplate — a flat gray platform floating in space. It's the cleanest starting point: empty world, solid floor, nothing else.
Press Ctrl+S (Cmd+S on Mac) and save it as something like LearningProject. Studio saves places to the cloud under your account.
A place is one Roblox game world — one buildable space. "Place" is the official word for what you're building. Your LearningProject is a place, and it's where every lesson will happen.
Close Studio, reopen it, and open LearningProject again from the home page. That round trip — close, reopen, find your place — is how you'll open your work every day from now on.
Which template do you use to start this course?
